How Does VOIP Work?
Internet Telephony or VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is sometimes referred to as the technology of the future as it brings together all those possibilities that until a few years ago were considered as impossible. In this technology broadband internet connectivity is used to route telephone calls instead of the conventional switching and the fiber optic alternatives. This process holds great promise in providing higher efficiency and lower cost for communication for consumers. One interesting aspect of the technology is that, for the user, no large-scale infrastructure is required. It's all about combining the functionality of the Internet and a conventional phone into one single service with minimal software and hardware support. In VoIP, the standard internet connection is converted into a place to make phone calls. To know more go through the article given below to learn the working of a VoIP.
Working Of A VoIP
There are three different ways in which a VoIP works.
ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor)
The ATA is an analog-to-digital converter.
This device allows one to connect a standard phone to the computer and the internet connection for using VoIP.
What the ATA device does is that it takes the analog signal from the phone and converts it into digital data. This digital data can then be transmitted over the internet.
Some service providers give ATA’s free with their service.
IP Phones
These are specialized phones, which look like normal phones and come with handset, cradle, and buttons.
IP phones do not have the standard RJ-11 phone connectors. Instead, they come with an RJ-45 Ethernet connector.
This phone is connected directly into the router. IP phones have all the hardware and software that are necessary to handle the IP call.
PC-To-PC
This is the easiest way to use VoIP. It is also very inexpensive.
The basic requirements are software, a microphone, speakers, a sound card, and a fast internet connection.
How It Works
The basic principle in which the VoIP works is known as ‘packet switching’.
In VoIP, the file is cut down to half for greater efficiency. This can be done because only half the connection is in use at any given time. In addition, the ‘silent intervals’ are removed and so the files are made even smaller.
Next, instead of sending a continuous stream of bytes, in VoIP, the bytes are sent only in packets.
These bytes are routed through a chaotic network, instead of a dedicated line. The entire process is known as packet switching.
In packet switching, the connection is opened for only a brief instant, just the time required to send a small ‘packet’ of data, from one system to another.
How The Packet Switching System Works?
The computer from which data is sent chops the data into small packets. It also fixes an address on each one detailing the network device where to send them.
Each packet contains a payload. This payload can be anything from e-mails, music file to voice (noise).
The packets are then sent to a router, which is nearby to the sending computer. The router then sends the packet to another router that is near the recipient computer. The packets are then sent form router to router until the receiving computer gets the packets.
The computer then resembles the data to their original form using the instructions contained in the packets. All the packets traverse different paths to get to the computer.
This makes VoIP efficient, fast, and very inexpensive.
Difference Between Netbooks And Notebooks
One of the biggest dichotomies to have surfaced in the recent times that have left the gadget geeks and gizmo freaks divided on what offers the best portable computing experience is possibly the waging debate on netbooks and notebooks. It is surprising but true! The ever-expanding laptop technology has left buyers with more choices than ever, but little idea on what to expect from the evolving trend. People wanting to upgrade their ageing laptop are still on the fence on whether to go for the savvier athletic notebook or the more compact suave netbook. Today, buyers are more game for snazzy gizmos that are thin, light, ultraportable and purely functional. While netbook has clearly emerged as the show-stealer in the recent times, many people have faced a rude shock to find that this portable gadget didn’t live up to their computing needs. Finding that one gadget that satiates all your computing needs is easier only if you are well-versed with what the gadget has to offer. Before you camp for either netbook or notebook, discovering the basic difference between the two ruling gadgets will help you make your pick. Read on to know more on this.
When it comes to hashing out on the pros and cons of netbooks and notebooks, netbooks definitely enjoys an upper hand when talking of size. Small, compact and light, netbooks are a real rage because of their pocket-sized appeal. With a screen size of 11’’ or less and half the weight of notebooks, netbooks are the idle bet for gadget freaks, looking for portability.
Netbooks also enjoys an edge over notebooks when it comes to considering their battery life. Netbooks consume less power and last much longer than notebooks. Absence of optical drive and smaller screen enhances their battery life, making netbooks a sure winner in terms of battery and power consumption.
Netbook is touted as more of a net friendly gadget, specifically designed for web browsing and basic data processing than anything else and comes with a comparative low speed processor than notebooks. Netbook offers a hard drive space of only 160 GB and has relatively less RAM than its medium sized counterpart.
For those who thought that netbooks were best for watching films, games or other multimedia purpose, you will be disheartened to know that the portable gadget is not equipped for such applications. For better, heavier computing options, notebooks are the best bet any day. After all, what can match the speed and multitasking abilities of a notebook.
Talking of cost, netbooks are more conveniently priced than high end notebooks that make them hands down winner with the buyers. Cost is touted as the major USP of netbooks as opposed to notebooks that though boast of multitasking features, come with a high price tag too.
Netbooks are much more user-friendly, cost-effective and easy to connect and carry than the high-end, pricey and heavy notebooks. Nevertheless, when it comes to high multitasking demands and heavy computing needs, notebooks are the all-time winner.

How to call from ur pc to any phone for free
Ok i have been asked for a long time how to do this. So i worked a lot and discovered this trick which makes u call for free to any part of the world without even exposing ur number.
The things u will need to start is a proxy service or software download HERE or Download tor
Follow these steps to make this happen:
1. first grab a proxy of any different place then Go to http://mobivox.com and click on the sign up option.
2. Fill the form with any kind of stuff excepting the mobile no. You can fill any mobile
no. u want dont worry , email id and pin.
3. Use ur mobile number/u can use any mobile no. u want to fill the mobile no. box and any pin which u remember/its the passwrd.
4. Now here's the trick lies: Fill the email id with a very different match and end it with @eyepaste.com and copy that address. Now go to the inbox of that email address by going to this link
http://eyepaste.com/inbox/your email address
For example:
if u have entered devendra@eyepaste.com as ur email address then go to
http://eyepaste.com/inbox/Devendra@eyepaste.com
5. U will find a confirmation email if u have done everything right just click on the confirmation link and u will be redirected mobivox now sign in using the same email address and pin and click on log in option.
6. Now select web calls from the upper part of the page and enter ur desired number and country to call.
7. Click the call now button and u are done.
so i have included eyepaste.com/u can also choose Yopmail.com here because it is not possible to make a new email id after evry 5 minutes of call so u can frequently make a new id and account in a mobivox/and always grab a new proxy while making an account nd njoy free calling each time....:D
so guyzz enjoy the trick :)

Different Types of Computer Viruses
Description
There are Different Types of Computer Viruses could be classified in (origin, techniques, types of files they infect, where they hide, the kind of damage they cause, the type of operating system or platform they attack) etc. Let us have a look at them…
Different Types of Computer Viruses
Computer Virus is a kind of malicious software written intentionally to enter a computer without the user’s permission or knowledge, with an ability to replicate itself, thus continuing to spread. Some viruses do little but replicate others can cause severe harm or adversely effect program and performance of the system. A virus should never be assumed harmless and left on a system. Most common types of viruses are mentioned below:
Resident Viruses
This type of virus is a permanent which dwells in the RAM memory. From there it can overcome and interrupt all of the operations executed by the system: corrupting files and programs that are opened, closed, copied, renamed etc.
Examples include: Randex, CMJ, Meve, and MrKlunky.
Direct Action Viruses
The main purpose of this virus is to replicate and take action when it is executed. When a specific condition is met, the virus will go into action and infect files in the directory or folder that it is in and in directories that are specified in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file PATH. This batch file is always located in the root directory of the hard disk and carries out certain operations when the computer is booted.
Overwrite Viruses
Virus of this kind is characterized by the fact that it deletes the information contained in the files that it infects, rendering them partially or totally useless once they have been infected.
The only way to clean a file infected by an overwrite virus is to delete the file completely, thus losing the original content.
Examples of this virus include: Way, Trj.Reboot, Trivial.88.D.
Boot Virus
This type of virus affects the boot sector of a floppy or hard disk. This is a crucial part of a disk, in which information on the disk itself is stored together with a program that makes it possible to boot (start) the computer from the disk.
The best way of avoiding boot viruses is to ensure that floppy disks are write-protected and never start your computer with an unknown floppy disk in the disk drive.
Examples of boot viruses include: Polyboot.B, AntiEXE.
Macro Virus
Macro viruses infect files that are created using certain applications or programs that contain macros. These mini-programs make it possible to automate series of operations so that they are performed as a single action, thereby saving the user from having to carry them out one by one.
Examples of macro viruses: Relax, Melissa.A, Bablas, O97M/Y2K.
Directory Virus
Directory viruses change the paths that indicate the location of a file. By executing a program (file with the extension .EXE or .COM) which has been infected by a virus, you are unknowingly running the virus program, while the original file and program have been previously moved by the virus.
Once infected it becomes impossible to locate the original files.
Polymorphic Virus
Polymorphic viruses encrypt or encode themselves in a different way (using different algorithms and encryption keys) every time they infect a system.
This makes it impossible for anti-viruses to find them using string or signature searches (because they are different in each encryption) and also enables them to create a large number of copies of themselves.
Examples include: Elkern, Marburg, Satan Bug, and Tuareg.
File Infectors
This type of virus infects programs or executable files (files with an .EXE or .COM extension). When one of these programs is run, directly or indirectly, the virus is activated, producing the damaging effects it is programmed to carry out. The majority of existing viruses belong to this category, and can be classified depending on the actions that they carry out.
Companion Viruses
Companion viruses can be considered file infector viruses like resident or direct action types. They are known as companion viruses because once they get into the system they "accompany" the other files that already exist. In other words, in order to carry out their infection routines, companion viruses can wait in memory until a program is run (resident viruses) or act immediately by making copies of themselves (direct action viruses).
Some examples include: Stator, Asimov.1539, and Terrax.1069
FAT Virus
The file allocation table or FAT is the part of a disk used to connect information and is a vital part of the normal functioning of the computer.
This type of virus attack can be especially dangerous, by preventing access to certain sections of the disk where important files are stored. Damage caused can result in information losses from individual files or even entire directories.
Worms
A worm is a program very similar to a virus; it has the ability to self-replicate, and can lead to negative effects on your system and most importantly they are detected and eliminated by antiviruses.
Examples of worms include: PSWBugbear.B, Lovgate.F, Trile.C, Sobig.D, Mapson.
Trojans or Trojan Horses
Another unsavory breed of malicious code are Trojans or Trojan horses, which unlike viruses do not reproduce by infecting other files, nor do they self-replicate like worms.
Logic Bombs
They are not considered viruses because they do not replicate. They are not even programs in their own right but rather camouflaged segments of other programs.
Their objective is to destroy data on the computer once certain conditions have been met. Logic bombs go undetected until launched, and the results can be destructive.

56 Google Search Tricks for Students
Google has been around for ages,
and if you're just starting college,
you've probably used the search engine for most of your academic life.
But there's more to the powerful search tool than just typing in keywords.
Here are 56 Google search tricks for all types of students, whether you're in high school, pursuing an online degree, or are just trying to brush up on your own research skills.
Advanced Search
When you're searching for specific material, use Advanced Search to plug in qualifiers that will narrow down your search. Here are more Advanced Search tricks to learn.
Search within a domain: Only let Google bring up .edu or .gov sites, for example, if you want primary sources or authoritative information.
Select file type: This very handy qualifier is useful when you need to quickly find certain types of data or information for a presentation. You can choose to limit results to .pdf, .xls, Google Earth, .doc, .rtf, and more.
: If you're looking to use open source material or unlicensed material, this is a good trick to make sure you're on track.
Exclude terms: Use a minus sign right before a word (-example) to eliminate it from your search results.
Wildcard search: The * key acts as a wildcard in Google search that can be helpful with early stages of research. Google gives the example [Obama voted * on the * bill] to learn about Obama's votes on several different bills.
Blogs: After conducting a search, click on the "Blogs" button under "Show Options" to view only blog posts on the subject.
Limit synonyms: Did you know that Google sometimes finds results that don't match your search exactly, but that use synonyms instead? Type in the + sign before a search to eliminate synonyms and use your words only.
Language: For foreign language or international business or policy classes, or if you just have to have a primary source, use this selector to change language settings.
Where your keywords show up: When you're looking for very specific information or for a specific kind of source, you can use this feature to limit where the keywords show up in your search: the URL, title of the article, in links to the page, or just anywhere in the page.
Find pages that link to the page: Use this feature when you want to do a little more digging. You'll stumble across blog posts, journal articles and news stories that offer more in-depth commentary.
Quotation marks: Put quotation marks around a phrase to let Google know you want that exact phrase in that order.
Scholar Search
Google Scholar is an excellent resource for undergraduate and graduate students who want a quick way to connect to authoritative information from journals and scholarly publications. Use these tips to search Scholar.
Search by author: Scholar recommends using the author's initials, or at least first initial and last name, to increase your results.
Search by journal: Used Scholar's Advanced Search to find articles published in a specific journal or publication.
Find articles and pieces that reference that article: By typing in the name of an article in quotation marks, you'll find that paper plus other papers that reference it.
Limit by date: Make sure you're citing the most updated research by limiting your returns by date.
Find court opinions: If you're searching for court opinions, you can search by state, choose only U.S. federal court opinions, or expand your search to all journals and opinions.
Select collections: Also in Advanced Search is the option to select collections like Chemistry and Materials Science or Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities.
Search Library Links: Under Google Scholar Preferences, you'll find the option to find library access links.
Start with citations, then move offline: Sometimes Google will pull up a citation but not the whole piece because it hasn't found it online. If it looks like a good match for your research, copy it down and bring it to your librarian for help locating it.
Find foreign language journals: Look for primary materials from foreign language journals in Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Spanish and more.
Bibliography Manager: Bibliography Manager is a Scholar feature that lets you add citations in various formats like RefWorks, RefMan, EndNote, and BibTeX. This is found in the Preferences section.
Reference Tools and Tips
Google is full of tricks for pulling up statistics, basic facts and reference material. Check here for great shortcuts for finding definitions and more.
Dictionary: Type the word "define" before the word you want to look up in the Google search bar.
Calculator: Just type in an equation with the = sign to use Google's calculator feature. You can find more calculator operators and symbols here.
Books: Click on the "Books" option under "Shop Options" after entering your search. You'll find Google books on the subject, and can quickly add them to your library or preview them.
Unit conversion: Let Google complete unit conversions for you when you type in a problem, like "4 lbs in kg."
Cooking conversions: When you're trying out mom's recipes at school, use this feature to solve cooking conversions.
Numeric ranges: If you want to know who was president during a certain timeframe, type in "president 1940…1950" for example. You can also use this feature to find results that contain certain dollar amounts or other numerical ranges.
Stock Quotes: For business classes, you can use the Stock Quotes search by typing in the ticker symbol. Google will bring up current stock quotes.
Glossary: Type in a word followed by ~glossary to find glossaries, term lists and dictionary entries for that word.
Package tracking: Find out when your next care package arrives when you use this feature.
Public data: Look up public data by typing in keywords and a location, like "population california."
Area Code Lookup: This feature should be useful when applying for jobs or looking for places to visit in your area for research.
Froogle: Whether you're shopping for the best deal or are conducting market research for a project, use Google's product search tool, Froogle.
Notes and Organization
Keep your research organized with these tricks.
Search within a site: Type "example search term site: example website" to search a keyword or search term within that site only, if you need to use a particular source.
SearchWiki: Use SearchWiki to star and edit your favorite results, even hidden ones.
info:: Find information about a website if you need to verify it or collect data for a citation.
Custom Search Engine: Create your own custom search engine with Google. You can name it, pick the language, and select only certain sites to be searched.
Learn how to assess credibility: This slide explains how to check a page's "about" section, find a date and author, and verify the author's credentials on Google.
Google Toolbar: Great for study groups, this toolbar lets you share websites with friends and translate web pages.
Pay attention to Google's indents: Google indents results when they're from the same website as the result above it.

Updates: After conducting a search, click on the "Updates" button under "Show Options." You'll get a steady stream of the most updated social media comments about that topic. Clicking "Discussions" will take you to forums Q&A pages.
Google Image Search: You probably know how to use image search, but did you know it's a useful way to ID people and look up foreign language definitions?
Knol: While it may not be the most authoritative search tool, Knol can help you start your research and find out how others around the world are reacting to current events and popular discussion topics.
Recognize faces: Follow this link for instructions on how to get Google to recognize faces, and not bring up other image results when you type in someone's name.
Shortcuts
Use these shortcuts to make your Google searches even faster.
I'm Feeling Lucky: If you're an expert searcher, use this button on the Google search page to get automatically directed to the first web page that would normally show up in a list in a general search.
